Born
in SEATTLE WASHINGTON during the late 70's and raised
up in the projects
of Yesler Terrace and High point before moving to
the east side of Tacoma,
Da Ghetto Baby has seen it all since a very young
age.
The son of a
musician who he knew little of, he was a very talented
in basketball and
football as a youth and grew up with aspirations to
be a
professional athlete. He enjoyed listening to all
kinds of music his mother would play but never in
his mind did he think he would actually write and
record his own music.
The era of Young Krime AKA Da GHETTO BABY begins...Soon
after his releasefrom the Washington Department of
Corrections he began searching for someone to produce
his first song titled "WHEN I WAS SLANGIN",
a song that he wrote while on lock down.
After several weeks of searching for a
producer to no avail his little brother hooked him
up with his friend who's big
brother had a studio. Young Krime is born, working
with his first producer, WESLEY FARRISON the two immediately
start producing Young Krime's first single "WHEN
I WAS
SLANGIN". This same song won him his very first
performance as a rap artist at the club matrix in
Federal Way.
First place and thriving offthe victory at the rap
contest Young Krime begins recording his first independent
release an E.P. titled "YOUNG KRIME" with
a newfound producer and now good friend JONATHAN C.
This is before the days of compact disc when the cassette
tape was very successful. Young Krime is now in the
rap game and on the northwest rap scene. Enjoying
the success of his first release he started performing
any and everywhere. Between 1992 and 1996 he performed
in Texas, California and WASHINGTON STATE with names
like E-40 AND the Click, Brotha Lynch Hung and more.
He also featured on the Street Brothers single Street
Brothas and in 1997 hewas featured on
the WAYOUT RECORDS Release "It's Rainin Dope".
In 1998 and time for a change, Mr.Young Krime became
also known as DA GHETTO BABY and began his journey
with the record label Felony Entertainment. To get
things started Da Ghetto Baby, Kaiser Soze (aka Awall)
and Felony Entertainment began doing shows in Texas
and all over Western Washington promoting the record
label and artists along with the new radio station
104.9.
With the world awaiting the sound of Felony Entertainment
they began recording the first compilation release
by the label at Da Hook Up recording studio
in Tacoma, WA. The compilation "WELCOME TO MY
CITY Chapter One sold over 3000 units independently
through Internet, retail and street distribution directly
to the public.
Now after 2 years of preparation and meditation it
is time to release the solo debut album from Da Ghetto
Baby Product Of Da Ghetto We have held
on long enough and it is time to release a new energy
into the streets, with music that not only makes you
move but your mind become stimulated you must take
